Bishop Lloyd School Community Council

Please Consider Joining Your SCC....!

When one thinks of School Community Councils, most people would generally think? Volunteering or fundraising. That’s not the case. By attending meetings you will find out what is going on at school and you will learn the information your child somehow forgot to share. Attending meetings is your way of staying informed and showing interest in your child’s education. We invite all interested parents to attend meetings and share their ideas about what would improve our school.  If there are any activities you would like to volunteer to help, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The Bishop Lloyd SCC has meetings once every month.  Elections will be held annually in the spring.  Meeting dates will be advertised on the calendar found on this webpage.

Parent involvement matters. Students are more likely to be motivated, to earn higher grades, to have better behaviour and social skills, and to continue their education to a higher level when their parents are  actively supporting their success at school.
Parent involvement can take many forms:

  • helping  with School Community Council activities
  • volunteering for field trips and school activities
  • making sure there is a quiet place set aside to do homework,
  • helping with homework
  • meeting with teachers
  • talking to your child about their day at school.

Parents and Community Members, would you like to keep up with what is going on at Bishop Lloyd? Are you looking for a way to get involved in the activities of our school? Would you like to meet others in our school community?

Please phone the school at 780 875 6239 or email katherine.luchynski@lpsd.ca to register.
